"Hi, Mom? I'm on X-Factor. Okay, not really. But my blog is doing really well. Yes, I still have a job."

Hi. It's me again. Yes, really! Another post!

You see, there’s so much exciting stuff happening in clog world these days.

TOTALLY IRRELEVANT ASIDE BECAUSE THIS IS MY BLOG AND I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT: Speaking of which, wouldn’t it be an idea for Holland to start an adventure park called Clog World to compete with Disneyland Paris? Instead of Cinderella we could have Sylvie van der Vaart.

Anyone who attends a tribute to Bambi is surely a shoo-in for a job at Clog World. Photo from The High Heel Times.

Instead of Yosemite Sam we could have Johan Derksen.

Slap on a hat and some pistols and no one would even know the difference. Photo from

Instead of long queues to get on the rides we could have the Dutch system where everyone crowds haphazardly around the attractions and each individual visitor is responsible for remembering whose turn it is next. I think it would be awesome.

Anyway. To the point. There’s this award called the Expats Blog Award that I could win. It's like X-Factor for expat blogs. And I really want to win because apart from the fact that winning is the most important thing (kids, don’t let your parents tell you otherwise. Mommy and Daddy are liars) I also really want to write my name in cement on the Kalverstraat in Amsterdam. Oh, that’s not part of the prize? Bummer. Oh well. Still, there’s the winning part. That would be good.

So if you like this blog, please visit my listing on the Expats Blog website and leave a comment at the bottom of the page to let the fine people over at Expats Blog know that you think I’m one helluva a fine blogger. Or even just an okay blogger. Cuz, you know, when winning is everything it really doesn’t matter how you get there.

Oh, and enormous splintery wooden-shoe hugs to those who have already left a comment. You guys totally rock.
